Default chassis rails and waxoil

is it a good idea to remove the chassis rail clips under the rear seat and fill the chassis rails with waxoil ?? since im doing a underbody restro this would be the time ?? should i keep pumping in the waxoil till they fill up ??

UNDER THE SEATS!!!! YOU DONT MEAN THE RAIL THATS BELOW THE CARPET DO YOU??-ITS NOT A CHASSIS RAIL/NOT ONLY THAT ITS INSIDE THE CAR!!!! WHATS THE POINT???? CARD ROTS FROM THE OUTSIDE IN -
IN 99.9% OF ALL CASES

I know the ones you mean, the plastic plugs under the back seat, and yes I would use a wax probe in there and put a nice coat of waxoyl inside, and I disagree with the above quote, as in my experience most cars rot from the inside of sections like that. In fact when I finish my underside resto this winter I am going to spray both inside those plugs and the chassis rail from the back with rust converter first then spray them with dinitrol to protect them. some good advice on www.rust.co.uk

I agree with Darren, it won't do any harm to spray it in any box sections. As for rusting outside in Surface rust maybe but its when the moisture is trapped that you get the problems especially in the good old UK when its wet more than not. The car never dries out properly.

no the clips under the REAR SEAT is what i SAID...... yes darren most rot does come from inside out.. just being looking at that dinitrol looks the job allright.. cheers for advice fellas

Totally agree, I removed the plastic clips last winter and sprayed loads of waxoil in there, as saph owners know all to well it's right below that hole where the chassis rots as it's double skinned there.
