Is it possible to have these tested at all??

A coilpack can be tested the same way as a single coil, see http://autorepair.about.com/cs/troub.../aa062902f.htm for a bit more info.

don't mind me, just Hijacking the thread , Any idea where from/ how much a new coil pack is please? And is replacing 1 ok or is it better to do both together?

I was thinking of getting a new set for mine, changed my mind when i saw the price, i convert to a single coil.

I have seen a conversion where a normal Zetec style coilpack was used and the spark plug leads were fed into the cam cover from the rear. this has the advantage of getting the coils away from the heat of the head.

£80 a pair from this place.

You may have to change the extension from your old coil but we were advised that this coil will fit the YB.

We actually got a pair from our local Bosch agent after we gave them the part number off the coil.

They are what i currently have in mine as a certain well known ford parts company assured me they were the same when i first bought them 18 months ago and then i discovered from MSD and a ford microcat check that they are not and are completely different

how easy is it to convert to a single zetec coil pack as the wires to my coilpacks are dodgy
