Default MSD Coilpack peeps!

Hi guys -
How on here has this, and HAS had to mod their rev-counter?
I've finally fitted all of mine today, and it seems to read correctly?

Cheers

Rich

i was under the impression it was just a mod in the ECU to run the coilpack conversion. and the rev counter then works perfectly!

but i could easily be mistaken

I had to solder a wire in to the back of my rev counter for it to work

lucky you, even with the mod at the back of the rev counter, mine is still not reading correctly. Stu has come up with another mod that I'm going to try, hopefully that'll sort it out

Hi Rolls, it seems about 50% of the tachs work fine as standard.

A further 30% work fine after the tachhead mod.

The final 20% dont want to work at all.

We are working on this as we speak, and should, hopefully, have a solution by the end of the week.

When I swapped to OMEX, my rev counter read half of what it should.....
It felt strange changing gear at 4000rpm

As promised, Stu has come up with a solution that works!!!
My rev counter now works. As all cossie owner knows, when you change something other things start to break, and Stu had sent me a replacement part free of charge (inclusive of postage) in compensation for the "unclear" fitting instruction. Since mine was the first DIY P8 coilpack conversion AND probably due to a non-standard UK spec car, I have not blamed him, yet he still apologise for his mistake (partly mine too for being a dump arse)

This kind of honesty in people (not just business man) is unheard of nowadays
