Default MT75's gearbox oil

2nd gear is getting difficult to engage when the car is cold (for the first couple of minutes), so I was going to change the gearbox oil. GGR website recommends "DEDICATED MT75 TRANSMISSION OIL (SIMILAR TO AUTO TRANSMISSION OIL)". Is there an alternative/replacement? I can't get the "DEDICATED MT75 TRANSMISSION OIL" locally

its certainly NOT AFT in everything,

the ATF (DEXRON 3) goes in the transfer box,

the gearbox needs specific MT75 oil that contains metal particles that help the bearings and synchros ,

castrol classic oils do it (as do others) the castrol one is called FMT (friction modified transmission oil)

http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp..._list_2005.pdf

£3.99 per half litre, and you need 3 bottles of it to fill to the required 1.3 litres

right, I'm a bit confused now! so is it as Dave said "specific MT75 oil that contains metal particles eg the castrol one is called FMT" or fully sythetic oil or ATF fluid?

money is really no object, how expensive can 1.3L of gearbox oil be? just want to put the right stuff in the box, I can't get the Ford oil locally, so want to know whether there is an alternative or better replacement.

the reason they will have said ATF is because it looks like ATF as it has a red rye in it the same as ATF

I've used Castrol SMX-X Fully synthetic SAE 75W-85 manual gear oil and TQ Dexron® III for the transfer box
Very happy with the results gears feel smoother and transfer box quieter
Bought from my local ford dealers much cheaper than Halfords !!
