My friend who runs company racefix motorsport in stavanger norway, Fitted LINK ecu to an ST couple of weeks ago, livemapped it on road. Still uses the standard turbo, but it was a really great improvement! specially in midrange and responce, due to better ignition mapping probaly.

What ecu are you running now?
What power was the old ecu making?

I need a heatsheild for my orange one, but I'll have to see if the standard one will fit, with the bigger turbo and downpipe.....

hello all,
I am new on this forum and I already love it. ( is there any presentation room ?)
I have as well a ST escort and I am impatient to fit her this new chip in order to kick some big turbo Boaster
I have just an interrogation regarding this "new kit" 350BHP and bigger turbo is this feasible keeping the regular cylinder head gasket or a reinforced one is needed .
Same question with the cooler std one or RS500 type one?

We have pretty much finished the first stage of developing a bolt on stage 2 kit for the ST Escos thanks almost exclusively to Wills very kind loan of his car to us.
The kit will comprise of:
To give you an idea though, here is what you will need on your T28 EsCos.
Parts list:
55lb injectors. Ł300
Cooler plugs. Ł50
Uprated pump. Ł150.
Chip will definately unlikely be anymore than Ł500.
Then you need a:
T34.48 with -34 fitted. (We dont sell the turbo )
LT 4x4 manifold (We dont sell)
It will all literally just plug in, no adjustments to make, just fit these components. Once fitted, the new conversion retains all the EEC IVs adaptive fueling abilities and of course the wasted spark and closed loop fuelling control system it has as std. The bay will look VERY much standard when you are finished.
The system needs some further polishing yet as we have sadly run out of fuel flow on the uprated Walbro ITP 048 fuel pump, which Will is going to pop down and replace early next week so we can push on, but all looks fine so far. At least the turbo is holding up this time.
Oh yes, a small point i missed that you were possibly interested in:
We will likely settle on a 28psi midrange overboost and 24psi held to the limiter on this stage 2 T34 conversion.
When this stage2 conversion is complete, Will and I will talk about rewriting teh software more comprehensively and fitting a bigger MAF, inlet cam, light porting, and some more power.

my car was the one Stu was using, with a T34.48 it was making 25psi @ 2500RPM - Top end was 21psi held, and was making excellent torque and power, estimated to be a solid 350BHP Unfortunatly my headgasket let go,which with the oil mixing took No4 piston with it ( not Stu's fault in anyway, my engine had 100,000 miles on it) so It is currently being rebuilt to try for 440ish bhp on EEC IV . I'm sure if you give MSD a ring they will fill you in on the rest of the details

MSD Mapped EEC IV ECU
Drivetrain:
Ford motorsport genuine 909 thickwall front differential with std ratio open diff, Steel sandwich strenthening plate. ( may upgrade to R&B alloy plate)

Did this project ever get finished? I've been keeping an eye it for it but it wasn't followed up on.
Were the limits of the small turbo overcome? And if so - what tuning packages can you now buy from MSD and for how much?
Cheers
Mark

This thread's been going for three years Its been nigh on two since Will took the car back to sort out. The way this is going I'll have given up driving due to old age before Stu gets this car back to finish.
I have a desperate need for more power lol - and I refuse to fit prehistoric Weber management and a dizzy
Stu - does it need to be Will's car you work on or could it be any ST Escos? In the interests of getting this done I could possibly lend you my car as it would certainly have more fun with you than it's having stuck in my garage. So long as it doesn't blow up that is...

Hi guys, apologies for the delay, I finally got my head back! It is now ready to fit, so will be ready to go by the end of September .... As before, it has been a bit of a nightmare as I have had so many problems it is untrue! Hopefully everyone that has been patient will get their reward when Stu finishes this off!
