That would probably solve my MOT problems I'm still having over here in Belgium since 1st March 2006.

I have 400cell 3" Catco ceramic cat in my car and it passed exhaust tests with it. It did need quite alot warming before it passed them. The car was dynoed with catalysator on (400bhp/400lbft), but I have no idea how much it would have been with out it. I just cant be bothered to take it of after mot so it stays always on.

Would a smaller cell size warm up quicker or is it the larger ones that gets warm fast due to being more restrictive?

Need one as well on my car.

no the more cells a cat has the more exhaust gases it can flow with less restictions and it can clean, ( lower the emissions ) the hotter a cat gets the better it works.
so a smaller cell cat will restrict the engine ( exhasust flow, by incressing back pressure ) and will not lower the emmisions as much as a larger cell cat.

best bet

fit the largest cell cat ( or run 2 x 300 cell ) and convert to coil pack ( wasted spark as this also helps by firing on the exhaust stroke to burn as much as poss ) and on a car running gray injectors you can run at well below 0.5%

or just get one of MSD s closed loop lambda conversions !!!!

or do both and Mr green will love ya !!
