Default Amal problem

Hi

My escort cosworth´s have been "bypassed" with an ordenary on/off switchvalve (low/highboost). I now put in a collinschip, and would like my amal to work out, with what ever kind of overboost it may give. But the o-ring in it is cracked and the valve don´t seem to click at all!! When connected the turbo makes MASSIVE overboost , like the amal don´t work out, but how can I make a safe check??

Can I see anything with my FLUKE if I put the pins into the amal-plug??

Can I give the amal 12v without killing it for sure?? and hear a click??

If my amal is dead... then I might need a secondhand well working amal with "snapplug" connection, for my escort

Could a boostcontroller be a solution to??

easy way to test it is take it apart and give it a live and earth from the battery and see if it opens and closes

Thanks radman... thought so

How about the seal (o-ring).. is only a dirt seal.. or is it very impotant/nessesary to be in top condition so there are no leaks. As I se it, it is in line from compressorhousing and actuator.

Think the amal is very dead!!!

Would a boostcontroller be something to go fore??? or "just" a ned amal???

I am "only" running 1,5 bar ... nothing serious
