Fuel Surge ?????
I have a problem with cutting out when powereing out of a corner, I thought at first it was too much boost, but its fine in a straight line.
But have now been told it fuel surge and if i fill the tank over 1/2 full it will eb ok, however, woudl fitting a new fuel pump be a better option ????
It has been the same since i got the car too..
Any help would be appreciated and it's gettin annoying now !...
Cheers,
Al........

You can mount the pump lower which will help, but the only full cure is to run a fuel swirl pot feeding to the engine via an 044 pump. This way, even of the in-tank pump surges, the engine ALWAYS sees a supply of fuel from the swirl pot, so you (nor engine) will have notice this again .

All lowering it will mean is it will surge at quarter of a tank instead of half. Given that this could lunch your engine if it happens on track, it is not something I would do - the swirl pot is the fix .

the saph tanks have outlets at the bottom so gravity feeds the pumps, the ecoss ones are intank therefore suck from in the centre, the saph is the btter design really, but as said swirl is the only way

Had this problem with a mates '93 car, especially when booting it out of a roundabout. The car wrecked a couple of gearboxes because of it. We put a swirl pot in the boot fed by an external low pressure pump and used an external Bosch high pressure pump to feed the fuel rail via the filter (also now in the boot). It cured the problem but the pumps were very noisy compared to the in tank setup, they were mounted near the rear beam under the rear seats.

A swirl pot's basically a cylinder with connections for fuel in, fuel out and vent/overflow. It's best mounted in the vertical position to avoid surge in the pot itself. We made ours hold about 3 litres and it had a baffle in it to try to stop any air from the feeder pump passing across the pot to the outlet. We took the return from the fuel rail back to the main tank to minimise hot fuel being recirculated.

I had our swirl pot made up by a guy who does ally fabrications for GGR (or at least he did at the time) as it was cheaper than an off the shelf solution (see Demon Tweaks catalogue for what's typically available) and it was to my design. Used a standard fuel filter and ran aeroquip hoses between the various bits. Also made up an adapter plate to take the two returns and feed hose that sat in place of the standard fuel pump (it was quite a tight fit between the tank and boot floorpan as we used curved tubing).
