Default ACT'S-boost probs

at what sort of air charge temps does the ecu start to limit the amount of boost as a safety precaution?

IIRC anything above or below 40 degrees C causes boost retard.

EDIT: deleted 'correctly'

dont know as i havent got a guage yet, lol,im having boost probs at the moment, one minute itll run full boost then the next it wont go above 1 bar,few minutes later its fine again! it looks like somethings limiting the boost to the safety setting,at first i thought it might be the fact that ive got my aircon rad in front of the 500 size intercooler and things could be getting too hot,but it does it with the aircon off as well so thats nothing to do with it,ive checked the amal valve had it apart checked it works, checked all the hoses to it etc so running out of ideas now, also renewed a/c/temp sensor, any ideas folks?

Ford decided that the optimum air temperature for maximum boost was about 40 degrees C and therefore reduced the boost at lower and higher temperatures.

It depends on who has mapped it and what they have mapped it to, but between 40-50°C is usually the point at which it could be set to retard.

TBH charge temps can vary sooooo much, generally I see around 10-15 degrees above ambient..

If I give it a bootfull all they way through tthe gears, at night, SECS shows peaks of 26-29

rigged up my sensor and getting readings of 19-25 even the aircon only makes a couple of degrees difference, i did leave it idling with aircon on full and it eventually got to 38 but as soon as you drive the car its straight down to low 20's so its not excessive charge temps then, any ideas ?
