Would a faulty coil on my large turbo ecos be causing my rev counter to go mad, and back fire on load?

Had mmy Snap on scanner on, iv replaced the phase sensor, and CPS, as i thought these are at fault. The coil looks as old as the car!

Do you still have the loom plugs by power steering reservoir?

 

Yep still got them! Guess they have to go eh! Oh ford ownership!

 

whats the crack wi those plugs like? do they break down over time and give a poor connection like? , do people jus by pass these and connect/solder wires direct like??

 

I beleive that they corrode from the inside out so chances are you wont see anything wrong with them.

Mine are getting chopped out next week on the advice of Damo and a few others

Im getting an auto spark to do mine though as my soldering is pretty poor

each to there own

 

Get em done... Nothing but grief

 

Took mine out - missfiring, dodgy idle etc all gone. There a pain !!!
