I am having a prob with the escos cutting out when cornering, soon as you
open the throttle the boost comes in then it cuts out, but if you do it on a
straight its fine

Starting to think it might be the fuel pump ??

Anybody had anything similar ?

Does this happen all the time whether you have a full tank or are low on fuel?

 

Yes is does, tryed turning the boost down but no use still does it

hi al .i get same prob with mine, i put it down to being low on fuel but you say yours does it with full tank. just recently had prob with idle control valve ,it was spluttering in morning till it got warm then it would cut out some times when coming to stop.cleaned it out read fault codes on ECU came up with lamba fault .but noticed temp sensor reading droping down from 88 to -17 degrees .but don't think thats has anything to do with wot you and myself are getting .have you changed your plugs yet. MARK

 

I was going to suggest that it might have been fuel surge if it'd only happened when you were low on fuel ie ¼ tank or less. Fuel surge can also happen when braking fairly hard.

 

Are Escort Prone to fuel surge ??

Cos if i feather the throttle out and build up the revs its fine once you nail it..

My pump is a bit noisy sometimes tho, and the car feels a bit hesitant at low revs.

Mines done this ever since fitting an uprated pump, but only does it when below quarter of a tank and cornerin hard.
