RWD Zetec sump question
Hi.. I am preparing a 2.0 silvertop zetec for my Sierra and set about swapping the sump to a rear bowl type one today. The problem I had was on removing the original FWD sump from the engine, there was a metal plate covering the the crank with slots in to allow the oil through etc. . With this in place my new sump and pick up pipe wouldnt fit! Am I ok to remove the plate and will the baffles in my new sump take care of things?
Help in this matter would be much appreciated

after racking my brain on this a bit more. .
The cast sump from the Zetec is empty inside and has the plate bolted onto the engine seperatly.. However, the RWD sump I have is baffled so Im pretty sure can manage on its own.
If anyone wants to make a 2.0 Fiesta I now have a spare RS1800 Fiesta sump removed from my 2.0 Silvertop zetec. Make me an offer.

how much work is involved in a getting a zetec in a sierra - more importantly how much it cost - and whats the total cost if going zetec turbo?
considering this for the 3dr or even the saff at some point
