spent some more time on her today
popped out and get her some new toys
new hydraulic clutch
new hydraulic clutch hose
new gearbox dust plate
and 5 meters of blue silicon vacuum hose
its been and bit of a made rush as the car is booked it to have to exhaust made monday
so i had to make sure i had everything to fit the gearbox inplace to make sure to exhaust will be in the right place
i have now fitted the hydraulic clutch to the t5 box
so im now looking forward to monday
as we will be making a gearbox mount and fitting the gearbox
then will be running 3" pipe from the turbo down to the axel where it will split into two ready to go into two rear boxes one each side with 4" outlets
cant wait

I am well impressed with all of the work that has gone into this car mate and I love the gearbox cross member, we are all waiting for the finnished car and the first video of it running and as you are getting very close to the stage all I can say is keep up the great work.

today was spent cutting the boot floor out so i can get the exhaust cans nice and high as i didnt want to have them sitting down at the back and cutting the rear valance to take the twin 4" pipes
welded up the down pipe and started on the T-piece ready to fun the 3" pipe down both sides of the car
tomorrow will be sent running the rest of the pipe work fitting the rear cans and making up a front towing eye

warning
hi fostersice i just noticed that your top mounts are up side down the raised bit is supposed to be on the top as that is where the strength is the flat bit that you have at the top is the side the bearing is pushed in & only held in with a circlip it is not meant to take the weight of the car please turn them over fella.ps top car love it.

From the photo below, the top mounts are upside down - look at the circlip.
CHANGE THEM ROUND.

Imagine what the weight of the car is doing. Effectively, it's trying to push the bearing upwards. The only thing that's stopping the bearing from moving upwards, with the top mounts fitted as they are, is the circlip (ignoring friction). If you turn the top mounts the other way up, then the bearing will be prevented from moving by the lip on the top mount.

The other sort of mounts Andy was thinking of are as in the pic below. Notice the 2 recesses to tap the bearing out using a punch - ie the circlip is on the other side. Compare these to your top mounts - the circlip grooves are on different sides, meaning that IF you had the ones shown below, then the "lumpy bit" should indeed be fitted upwards.
