Helloo,

I bought an exhaust from Burtons last week and i got a mate to fit it but he says the bore is different from the original cast manifold and won't fit. Will i have to buy a new manifold for it, or is there something you can buy to make it fit?????

i reckon you might need to fabricate one urself mate, shouldnt be to hard, maybe. wahats the difference in bore from manifold to the pipe? me dads got a janspeed on his anglia, mated to a crossflow manifold, we did not fit it personally however it appears to have an extension pipe welded to the down pipe, allowing the change in bore. maybe theres a kit, dont think so tho.

 

The guy in the garage should be able to make a backwards reducer pipe to come off the manifold and open out to the bore size of the rest of the system! Would probably cost about £20 to do if that, any competent exhaust place can do it!

I couldn't be bothered with that, so i bought a spanking new 4-2-1 manifold and the whole system slotted together no problem, it sounds incredible. I've never driven anything that burbles and pops before and has totally livened up the car and it's made me smile everytime i drive it again!!

 

Cool, wait for a nice cold day and get the car nice and warm then you will now what pops are like, mine does it all the time especially in the snow!!

I've just had a load of 4 into 1 manifolds made for Pre-Crossflow and Crossflow's in Anglias...

But the shocker was they also fit perfectly onto MkII Cortinas.....

So I suspect they will also fit onto MkI 'tinas & Corsairs.....

Jon Hill the Classic Ford photographer has one on his MkII Cortina.....

The manifold is 22" primaries that are 1.5" in diameter and has a 2" pipe exiting the collector.

Burtons should have the manifold to fit the car, but you should be able to buy an adaptor for it.

 

What as in 100E Pop ?

Or Sit-Up & Beg Pop ?

I guess someone like Pop Parts Plus or Pop Browns would be able to help with something like that.
