like the spec, have you got piston cut outs?bd 14's?
have you got chip yet?if not don't use ab one

which wheels? many rwd wheels have zero offset so if using s2 disc and caliper you will need spacers.

just a few of my ideas cos havin my motor for ten years its a lot of trial and error and money to get just right

Wheel wise they are 7 1/2 J 13's Rear and 7J 13's Front. It's just the S2 RST caliper ,for the front it's the Sierra hub and a bracket for the caliper to sit on, the Caprisport kit.
I'll have to check me cams,i'm sure it was BD 14's I bought,it's been so long I can't remeber I bought the block and pistons as one lump, had it balanced and new rings fitted. So it's just got 2WD pistons in it. Gonna have to find out about a clutch cable too.

Not bought a chip yet, what you running then mate?

The wheels fit then without rubbing on cal?
i got a kit off caprisport 283 cos mondeo cals had to have new brakets made and cal carriers machined cos of massive pad overlap 7mm

as for cable use a 2wd one and a cortina mk 5 rachet/pedal not sure if capri 3 is similar

i really think u need cut out in pistons to run those cams

Yeah the mondy caliper is slightly bigger I think, thats the GTR 280 kit . The pedal on the Capri is standard spanner job adjustment for the clutch cable. Dunno if the MK 5 Cortina pedal will fit Have to check that one out though mate, thanx

Oh gawd I hope I don't have to have the pistons pocketed

Xindi, what master cylinder are you using?
i,m using modded sierra servo and RS turbo S2 master which is 25 mm bore and has pipes on the left(away from manifold heat)

had to do this as i had too much pedal travel

Just a bit more info

Yay,checked and I still had the boxes for the cams and i'd put BD10's in the head Thank god no stripping the block down again to pocket the pistons LoL I had to go check before I went to work or i'd have been thinking bout it all night LOL

I'm using a Capri 2.0 Ltr servo, i'd read you can get a Land Rover Master cylinder thats 25mm bore that will mate up to the Capri Servo, but if the RST S2 one will fit i'll have a pop at getting one of them Did you fit a brake bias so the rear discs won't lock up? I'd read that you could get a bias off a Sierra...mind you they ain't easy to find in the scrappy these days

Btw mate, the car looks SCHWEET Top looking mota there bud,if mine comes out half as good as your engine bay i'll be well chuffed

I've also got a Escort Cossie Heat Shield to try and keep the heat at bay.

And thanx for all the info mate, every bit helps, top bloke

Yes that master will fit i only used RS one as the pipes came out on the left, but had to use sierra servo.

i have one of those valves pm me if you want it don't want to break the rules on here

Thanks for the comments i'm sure yours will look better

mine is off road and i've stole a load of parts for my 2wd saff so its new wheels, injectors, map, ecu

Yeah i'd like to keep the brake lines away from the heat,i'll source a RST master and see if it will mate up to the Capri servo *crosses fingers* LOL

Thats great mate, thanx i'll pm ya now

Phew, thanx for the heads up mate I got a couple of 2.0Ltr Capri servo's,wonder if it might be easier to get a Landy 25mm bore master cylinder. I'll pop to me local scrappy at the weekend and see what they got in the way of Sierra's

Hey hi bud, Thanx for the comments mate, on both forums Hoping to at least have her running by the end of the year. I went for the MK II X-pack as you don't see many of them and I didn't really like the MK III X-Pack as you can't really see a difference from afar, with the MK II arch it's a noticable difference.......that and i've had the arches for about 6 years

Ok here's a nice little update, with a few pics....

Painted fuel tank now fitted....

Passenger door also now fitted....

Bonnet fitted for lining up of the wings ( not the bonnet i'm using on the final car)....

And here's the main man himself who's doing most of the bodywork on the car for me ( apart from fitting the X-Pack arches, thats my job cos he hates fibreglass panels ), the dog's danglies panel beater ... cheers Dan .....

He's removed the sound deadening on the bulk head in the engine bay cos A: It's horrid to paint and B: it'll look much nicer ....

Sadly, the quality of pattern wings is somewhat....naff sometimes to say the least sorry Dan and at Ł60 odd quid a pop for pattern stuff , you'd think they'd be a better fit and yes I could get my finger between the wing and the door edge , and nope you can't get Genuine Ford MK III wings new for love nor money these days ....

The wing would fit great in one way, then too short in other areas, so with a bit of jiggery pokery and cutting, Dan's sorted it ....

And now the pics that i've been waiting to put on here for a while....

Ta Da !!

Now for my fav Pic ....

Now don't that look much better with wings on

Hope you guys like the update and many many thanks for all your words of encouragement, cheers guys

Lol it's a bit big ain't it mate. But sadly who ever put the fibreglass power bulge on, did a crap job. It was just a bonnet I swapped with someone who wanted a standard bonnet, so was just laying around the workshop, we've only put it on so Dan could line the wings up properly

Now it's time to do a bit more saving and getting some more bits for the ole girl, may go to Trax to see if there's anything.

Cheers for the comments guys
