Ello peeps, righto, time for an update..... Nice load of pics for you guys to oggle over....

Here's a few of the engine in the engine bay before it was taken back out. It was initially fitted so I could get all the hoses, parts and holes drilled before the engine bay was sprayed.....

Before the cam belt was fitted ( and what a bit of a nightmare that was ! )

Now with Rad and Intercooler fitted....

Here's the modified front hubs....

Nice new set of wheel bearings for them....

Ta Da ! Bearings fitted....

And now the modified Hubs on the car, sadly no caliper fitting yet, as I was supplied the wrong fitting kit ....

Engine bay, Primed and ready for topcoat

And now, are you ready ....

Drum roll please....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Ta Da !!!!!..... The Pics don't do Dan's spray work justice....

Now's the daunting task of slowly and VERY carefully putting the bits in the engine bay as the paint, this time of the year is still soft and will take a while to go hard.

Hope you guys like the update, sorry it's been a while

Thanx mate They are Capri hubs machined so I can fit MK III Escort RS Turbo front Discs and S2 RS Turbo front Calipers on, it's the Caprisport 260 conversion kit using a 2.0L Capri servo and a Land Rover 88 model master cylinder as the Landy master cylinder is a 25 bore as the Capri is only about a 23 bore. It places the disc at the front of the hub instead of the back so heat dissipation is alot better. Cos i'm sticking with the 13 inch rims i'm a little limited on what size I can put under the rim.

Thanks for them bits at Ford Fair btw mate

Top build mate , my mate has just got the very same X-pac for his MK2 capri and has some 8jx18's to go under it but it really is quite a beast of an arch to fill.
Are you going super wide wheels or spacers?

Looking real nice, YB power is exactly what I want in mine when I get the chance

Will be interested to hear how you get on with the M/C choice. I've got a similar conversion on my Capri..... Mondeo calipers and S2 discs. (had the skim the calipers to get them to fit under 13's!).

Have a search on the Laser page for info on the M/C choice if you like, a while back there was a lot of discussion and conflicting ideas and experiences on that.

LOL, well I've done a bit more work on her, but now i'm waiting for the brake parts to put the servo in the engine bay. I'm also repainting the servo as it's paint hasn't gone right for my liking. I've also done a bit of work fitting the X-Pack arch linings. I'll get some piccies on later It's not a lot of pics, but it's time consuming work fitting the linings.

I'm also thinking about the cylinder head now, because I know it's been skimmed but dunno by how much and i'm a little worried about valves kissing the top of the pistons as I am going to be running BD10 cams.

They are 139.1mm-139.2mm new ,so get a set of vernier calipers and check how much has been taken off. Norris motorsport or cylinder head developments are supposed to be quite good with heads and fairly helpful.

Ok folks time fer a little update....

Arch prepped for fitting of the arch liner....

Arch liner cut and fitted....

Had to weld in a bridging plate to meet the arch liner....

Then skimmed over with chopped strand filler....

Then sanded down and refillered in places....

Waiting for the last bit to dry off....

Sadly the Brake Servo had some rust comming through again....

So stripped down, rust treated and filler primered....

And now repainted....

Well, thats about it folks for now, still waiting for my brake parts to come through, so can't really do much with the enigne bay yet

Hope you guys like the update

Sorry there ain't much to it, but it's all time consuming stuff and I only get to work on her on Saturdays

Ok time fer an update....

Got the Master Cylinder come through for the Brakes ....

Now fitted in the Engine bay ....

Sierra Bias valve fitted to stop the rear discs locking up ....

New Brake pipes fitted ....

Now if I catch the numpty who thought it was a great idea to paint the boot in Emulsion paint i'll do more than have a sturn word with them

Took me the best part of 4 hours to get this crap off ....

Had to paint the wheel well with some rust inhibitor to kill some mild rust off....

And thats all i've done for now, got some different rear lights to sort out next and save up to have the gearbox rebuilt and a new shorter propshaft to be made

At the moment it's come to a bit of a halt, as last week I pulled a muscle in my chest, for the life of me I don't know how i've done it, wasn't doing any work on the car

I got mine off fleabay and cost 70 quid each, most of the pattern made stuff used to be a half decent fit but reallt struggled with these wings and still not completely happy with the fit. Just when you get it lined up with the front edge of the bonnet they go all to fuck at the edge with the door Then they dont fit wirth a fuck at the door pillar and when you try and sort that it pulls it too close to the edge of the bonnet !!!!

Still not bad enough though to make me pay the crazy money for are asking for genuine ford wings !!
