iirc the standard Zetec head actually flows very well out the box.

Ive heard this too for a stage 1 you could be looking at £350 and the same again to swap your internals from your head to the new gas flowed one, unless you can do all that yourself Not sure how true as Im not a tech on this, but I was told its not worth doing by someone who had theirs done, thats why I didnt bother as its alot of money to pay out for a little gain

Yes mate, and that figure in my sig is now wrong.

Kent 1802 cams & vernier pulleys
Ashley 4-2-1 manifold with de-cat
Power boost valve
K&N Induction kit
Banshee induction S/S pipe
Magnex exhaust
2ltr Throttle body
Mapped evolution chip by MSD, cams/verniers & PBV also set up by MSD
And I run it on Shell Optimax

Was at a club meet RR at the weekend and got 157.9bhp / 149.5 Lb ft from my 1.8

Hmmmm my current spec isn't really that far off from yours, bar the cams and pulleys.

Mines a 2.0, so i wonder what i'd be looking at with cams fitted?

I'm on the PE day on Saturday, be nice to see what i got

I got a very good figure from my car when I fitted the 4-2-1 and 2ltr T/B, it just felt much better and responsive and the rolling road proved that

Edit to say, be good to see your results

Why not see if you can get your hands on a ST170 head or ST170 spec head It flows better than a 2.0 ltr head, has bigger valves than 2.0 ltr and the ST170 4 branch manifold would fit straight on, and you could fit cams and verniers to it

OR

Quit playing with these poofy powered 2.0 ltr lumps and get a pukka 1.6 cvh turbo engine and feel REAL power and torque at the wheels

And with the Rs Turbo engine having such good reliability

You prob drive like i do about 1% of the time so a 2.0 non turbo is just right for me mate, especially doing nearly 200 miles a week.

Anyway, i'd waste you in ya RsT..........................Until ya turbo cuts in that is

if your after a cam/head combo go with raceline as its all matched to work together so will give good power and torque. Mine goes well alright, ive also had the compression upped aswell. On std management i was wiping the floor with scooby wrx's , old shape supra turbos, and cllaimed 180 bhp erst.

cant wait to get my pectel T2 fitted to it and unleash its full potential

What power do you think your running to waste Scooby WRX's.

Also a proper tuned 180bhp RST ahould be making 180-200 lbft torque, far more than any N/A engine would be making.

I think your find that every mile the RST clocks up is the same sort of "hard" mile that your clocking up. The RST only gets thrashed when it comes out to play

oh its done 104K thats a fair few so far

i was compairing performance figures from the RST and the ST170 on low down torque for Steve, and the RST is very supprising. It matches the ST170 for torque and bhp right upto 3000 rpm when the turbo then whooops the ST170's ass, So bring it on paul

No idea what power itis ive never had it rolling roaded.

In my PF grudge match i was doing 0-60 in 6.8 and 15 sec qtrs and getting to 135 down brunters. It was soaking wet that day, plus i was running a fucked std rst clutch (was noisy as fuck as a spring had broken onit i later found out) and the tyres were new the day before so wernt bedded in yet. Would of done 6.5's and 14's that day if it had been dry i reckon. Thats was all on std 2.0 management aswell and full trim so its gonna be even better when i strip it, get it mapped and with a decent clutch. Low 6's high 5's to 60 may be on the cards with a bit of luck.

Id also like to add i can drive my car properly and get the best out of it as ive had it for 5 yrs with three diff engines and im proper used to it, so that obviosully helps my times
