Default Trust electrical inlet

i got this on monday and its a bit harder to fit than i thought. I thought it would be a straight swap for the orginal but it needs some thinking to get it working.

This is what the kit contains. The inlet mainfold with space for injectors and rail. A blanking plate, a circular plate with inlet, a rectangler plate that bolts onto std butterfly bit of throttle body, and lastly a pipe to connect the inlet to the butterfly/linkage etc

inside inlet

inlet ports

back of inlet

the different plates

layed out how it fits together

the iscv i need to bodge into all this somewhere for cold starting

throttle linkage etc.. that will bolt onto rectangler plate and need fixing somewhere. but where??

The problem i have is i need this fitted by monday as i have a live mapped booked at MSD. I need to figure out where im gonna mount all the throttle linkage etc.. and where and how im gonna fit the iscv into all of this. any ideas welcome

also does it look like this will give me any gains in performance??

got it from www.trustelectrical.co.uk . It is meant to come with an omex management system, but i thought it would be better and cheaper for me to just get the inlet and let MSD do the map on my std management.

i would of personally thought it would be ok without using the cold sart injector... they are only there for when its REALLY cold (well they are on an ERST anyway )

If you get a remote housing from an early xr2i, you can then mount it the ISCV anywhere, just need to get a pipe either side of the throttle body to it as per normal IIRC

as for your throttle housing etc, i would think that you will need to re route it, so that it sits on one end of the inlet, and mod everytjing else occordingly.

did you not get any fitting instructions mate??

personally, what i would do is mount the round bit with the hole for the inlet so its facing IN to the plenum with the t/b bolted directly to it, it looks as tho you have enough metal to drill the 4 holes and bolt the t/b on to it.

be easyer to route the throttle cable too.

not quite sure what u mean. do u mean put the circualr inlet plate for trust t/b on the wrong way then bolt the other bit which goes on to the linkage and that straight onto it??

yes and no....

i mean mount the round plate so it is facing into the inlet, dont use the square bit at all, except to mark the holes for the t/b to be mounted to the round bit.

if ya get me??

if you did mean that it work cause the circular inlet thing wont go round the other way as the welds stop it from going butt up.

i cant see where im gonna fit all this and it dont look like i will be able to doit by tuesday so i might just send it bak.

i paid around 170-180 for it (cant remember exactly have invoice at home) , thats including vat and a temp sensor they said i needed.

i dont have the time to fuck about with it to much, plus it will probably fall apart if i go at with a grinder. think im gonna get rid of it
