Default FAO DEANO (OR ANYONE ELSE THAT CAN HELP)

Okay, got series 2 and when done milage she overheating and water bubbling out of header tank when turned off. Replaced header cap, still no good. Then used hosepipe to run water through pipes by taking pipe off top of thermo unit. Seemed okay for half a day then same thing happened. Replaced thermostat and still the same. Someone told me it might be head gasket and to drive it without going on boost and see if same thing happens-it does!!!
fan aint coming on unless i put me headlights on , pmsl!! any ideas? Deano was gonna post on PJ's forum but u answered todays questions already.

cheers guys

Definately air getting into the cooling system , would defo checkout the headgasket , have a look on the block for water marks , are you topping up the water often ?

Yeah check all the pipes , check your coolant bottle too if its got hot and flexed that may be something to change too , still think you should check for signs of water on the block

There wont be water stains on the head

Look on the block somewhere for a lightish brown stain that will indicate if the headgasket is on its way out

Whats the inside of your oil filler cap like ?

Mate get a torch , a feckin bright one and just look at the block as it sits in the car , you might have to crawl underneath to check the back of it though unless you can see it from side on

head gasket is leaking from the cylinder into the water jacket, may only be doing it after the engine warms up that the gasket will leak, (rovers are bad for this) it doesnt need to leak on the outside of the block either or contaminate oil
