FAO PS3 boys and girls......

Ive not used it all week,but i turned it on today,was slow to start up,then made me do a software update thing???? Wouldnt let me do anything till i did it,so just click where i had to click,and bobs ya mothers brother,DONE....

I then went to download the PES demo,as i quite fancy it,but it took AGES (3hours) to get,but anyway it came,and i was happy.. I installed it,nothing,whole thing just froze.... tried to turn it off with the PS button on the controller,AND the standbye button on the actual PS3 itself,but nothing,so had to turn it off from the wall....

Now when i turned it back on (slow again),its sayin it wants to format my hard drive,so il loose EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all the stuff ive downloaded,granted for free,but game sthat ive paid for too!!!! My movies clips,pics etc etc,the fuckin lot,GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Could this be due to downloading that fuckin japan copy of GT5??? If not,whys it gone like that,and whats the chances of me gettin back all the games ive paid for,and all the progress ive made in games that was aved to the HD??

i wouldnt know about the download of the jap GT5 pro, seems a few people on here have downloaded it & seem ok

Ive updated mine to the latest firmware and had no probs at all..

the only problem I have is decising which to buy.. Need for Speed or Juice..

Call sony and see if they have an expanation? I didnt bother with adding jap user etc as Im in no rush to play a demo of GT and plus I couldnt be arsed

Maybe it worth buying a second hard drive before you start downloading stuff and progressing in games, if pc hard drives are anything to go by it shouldnt cost much

Thats just it,im not overly fussed that ive lost the film stuff,or a few demos,but i AM over stuff that ive PAID for!!! Thats what i want back more than anything......

Its justa shitter that its not of old PS style,where its just a memory card,that you can take round a mates etc etc when u wanna play a game there..its all in-fuckin-ternal!!!!!!

Sorry i was thinking it was like a pc game that you download, i.e download it and your given a serial code, if you ever wipe the hard drive you just go back onto the site you downloaded it off, enter your code and re- download it agian, ps3 downloads not like that then?

 

Any games you paid for on the PS3 online store can be re-downloaded (as long as you use the same PS3 ID you bought them with), look in your downloads/purchases in the online store.

Pete, anything you've downloaded won't appear in the store anymore, but in your purchases/downloads (think it's at the top of the screen near the shopping basket).

You can download them 5 times or so (some have no limit).

I'm on software level 2.0 and haven't had any issues, so guess you were just unlucky. The downloads possibly took ages due to the couple of game updates floating about + the software revision, AND they've been updating the PS Network... so it was probably very busy the last week or so.

I've got CM Dirt, Sega Rally [awesome online with mates], Tiger woods, Motorstorm, PES [bunch of wank because I keep losing ] and Resistance which I hate because 1st person shooters are for losers with too much time on their hands!

 

mate, skate is awesome, its far more realistic compaired to TH, you can no longer do about 15 tricks of a ramp. Its quite tricky at first but once you get into it, its awesome

i would deffo recommend it
