Default Winter Track Day - Your opinions required please......

Need your opinions please guys & gals.

Im looking at a potential venue for a Regional Show next year which would possibly take place in January / February.

The venue has superb facilities for both indoor and outdoor spectating, and also an indoor & outdoor static display area.

It is the only track complex in the UK not to use crash barriers, concrete walls or gravel traps. Instead, there are very wide grass flat run offs, which is a very useful way to safely explore the potential of a car without the risks associated with conventional race tracks

It also has a large expand of tarmac for slalom / brake testing / doughnuts activity. Plus a loose rally stage.

What I want to know is, would you attend a track day / RS show at this time of year?

If there is an indoor area incase of bad weather then yes

IMO You would then need to insure that on a rainy day there is still enough to occupy peoples interest.

Not sure how popular a track session would be if the weather turned nasty, i dont even go on track in the summer lol

Although the venue does sound good, its just filling it with the right stuff imo

i would be interested , both to attend and possibly on the teack ,

How ever how many people fail to get their cars ready for central day , most will still be off the road for winter ,

Spose if people knew your show was commin up they'd get their cars out .

I would be interested in the track thing , especially as I am a track day virgin

Would be good to see what the car can do without crashing into the barriers etc

Only a fence sitter, because last time I tried to do the Redline one at Bedford (2003 I think) on 1st Feb, - it was snowed off.

Rain's ok, but Snow - no way, they don't even open the track!.

pros - Excellent Track
Loads of space for other atractions
Not baking hot
Indoor area to keep the buftys happy and refuge for the masses if it pisses it down.
Other car attractions of interest already onsite
No other show on at this time of year so would attract more interest compaired to being in the middle of summer.

Cons - Cold, Wet and miserable highly possible (some might say this is a good thing though)
Risk of snow = no track
Higher risk of low turn out due to weather
Time of the year when RS's tend to be in bits or in storage
