Just bought the new fast ford, got a section on tunning a erst, sez that if you get a chip, zorst, filter and -31 actuator and run 15psi you would get around 190-195bhp

and with a front mount intercooler and further tweaks to the fuelling you should see OVER 200bhp

This sound realistic? any1 running this basic set up with the bhp mentioned

jus seems abit to easy to me??

I personally think with the above without the FM/IC depending on engine condition that about 180BHP is deffinately acheiveable and with the cooler 200 is on the cards with a good set up

100% agree with jay, 15psi on std ic wont make 195bhp, and is too much boost anyway.

stick a fmic or charge cooler then yeah ~200 is possible

If you think about it,200bhp with a FMIC,15psi and setup is quiet impressive really for relatively small money.Thats basically what i have,as I'm sure 1000's of RST owners have and it will give more powerfull cars a good run for their money .Regards Micky

IMO, Chip/Exhaust/Filter (Driller Airbox & K&N), -31 and as much boost as you can run on a standard Intercooler would make a maximum of 175-180bhp.

Fitting an FMIC then upping the boost may top 200bhp, but only just. You may require over 20psi for this.

I agree with Christan,15 psi or 20psi to make 200bhp,maybe adding a 285T cam, but bloody hell,I still think its excellant value for money.200 BHP is enough to make a RST a competitive machine against much more powerfull cars.Regards Micky

I have stage 1 chip, Mongoose exhaust, K&N, -31, GRS cooler and Pace rad running 15psi but TBH i'm not so sure its got 190bhp...

170-180ish i'd say...

chip, -31, filter with modded airbox, mongoose/magnex, 13-14psi on a good engine as said will be 170-180bhp! 180bhp@fly is a good stg1.

im loving that. 350 so does that include the purchse of the -31 and chip fitted and is it a rolling road set up?

and what is a stage 1 chip as ive been looking about for supplied prices and some say up to 175bhp some 185bhp and others 195bhp?

take it theres no benchmark on a stage 1 maybe. sorry for the lack of knowledge. im used to just sending my cars into garages and paying thru my nose for things i dont know about .

also my cars boosting at 1900 revs so would that be a part of the tune?

regards dave

im sure matey it boosts to high hell and then thers majors flat spots in 3rd n 4th.

the thick sod i bought it off fitted the engine which and thrown in a turbo off ebay,he got the car running to sell but never had it set up so its guzzling juice at the mo and feels like it wants to throw up.

it boosts fine but to early.few peeps on here have said my wastegate mite b sticking. either way im hoping it will be a quick thing for whoever does my chip n tune

That is too much boost. The car would probably make more power if you dropped the boost to 12-13psi.

Lower ACT's will keep the ignition off Retard.

Once you have a decent FMIC (such as GRS), then the boost can be wound up to 18psi (maybe more) with a proper set-up. That also depends on the condition of the engine/turbo.

originally i was just gonna go for 10psi which made 155bhp-ish but they persuaded me to have a chip for an extra £200 which then went on to make those figures.

im thinking of getting a Pro Alloy cooler as AFAIK the GRS involves front bumper cuttage which i dont really fancy.

after this i think i may have it setup for 18psi. my engine is healthy enough but its a standard turbo (1yr old) and i dont wanna kill it really. as has been said i should be good for near 200bhp after this.
