Default making my PC fast again

anyone got any advice...

my PC has gone totally crap slow.

dont think the high temps its running are helping (40 cpu temp)

but other than that its just running really crapply... messenger keep freezing so do a fair few other programmes and is not like it used to be..

any reccomendations - im reluctant to do a full wipe and reinstal as im not sure what ive got on and what i need to replace programme wise.

you could try a virus scan, spyware scan, defrag and tidy up but I doubt it will cure it tbh!

40 CPU temp is fine, mine runs at 42C and 55C under load!

Do as already said, back up files you want/need and wipe the PC, chucking some more memory in it doesnt do any harm either.

whats the spec?

it is running 44 temp with no load... often goes up to 70s when under load.

i'll do a sweep.

i really unsure on formatting it though...

as im a bit crap when it comes to resetting stuff up.

mind you nowadays only really use the PC for shopping, browsing and email rather than owt too interesting so could be worth a go.
