Precautionary measures????
Ive just bought a Minter Black S2 Woman owned from new, its got 113k on clock but it absolutley mint condition! i was wondering what things i should do as precautionary measures until i can get the money together for forged pistons & rods to do a rebuild for a bit of a power hike!!
im prolly guna replace the cambelt for starters cuz i dotn want that going on me.
what are common faults for ersts?????
or am i just being paranoid bout all ov this?? lol

valve stem seals go!
clean the breathers out as they block!
get it set up!
usually the actuator goes a bit soft with age!
just the usual do a complete service!
you got to understamd its a 17 year old car so things go wrong or play up be prepared!
what mods you got in mind?????????

im just guna whack on an exhaust, D/V, and induction till i got the cash together for a full on rebuild.
i duno bout specs but im aimin for 250bhpish in a proper rebuild eventually duno if that sounds abit optimistic like lol.
my dad has an american 1.9 tall block cvh sittin around which i wudnt mind stealin to use in a rebuild but i think he has designs on usin it in his N/A escort xr3i. BORING NO TURBO!!
for the time being tho im more realisticly prolly guan jus recon the engine n go stage 1 n get all sillicon hoses coz sum ov them r bound to be fucke d by now until i got the cash to do it all proply n get forged pistons n rods n different management too.
Give the car a throrugh service and change the cambelt as a matter of course. Service it get your zorst and filter on then get it set up by a tuner and if needed have a new actuator as teh current one will have probably gone soft.
File your DV in the bin as even when you get your 250bhp you will not need it

You won't get much noticable chatter without the DV and you will not damage the turbo by not having one. You won't sound like a bus either which is a bonus. If it's not there it can't play up. I've had three DV's on my S2 and the best thing I did was remove it completely. The general consensus is if you aren't running over 30psi or a T4 turbo then you don't need one.
My feeling is that if it doesn't aid the performance I see no point in fitting it
Some people love them all the same though.

r-s-turbo, it apparently does slow own throttle response. Does it make it faster? NO!
does it prolong turbo life? with a std T3 you dont need to worry bout that. Dump valves are only needed for T4+ or equivelant size with high boost.
BIN IT, it will cause problems if it isnt already.
