first job is to treat the rust inside the roof, ive seen some good rust treatments at www.frost.co.uk, can any of you lot recommend a good one? cheers
ps do u think its worth painting the bulkhead and inner wings?
Doesn't look to bad mate, i've seen worse so you've got a good shell to work with. The link for frost didn't work but i buy a few things from them and this is 1 of the products i use for removing rust http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8229
For really thick rust i spray it on a leave it awhile then attack it with a wire brush attachment on my grinder

I use a good rust cure ,its made by a company called granville ,sold in a little pot with an oil rig picture on it ,when we did will,s one (puss on here),his sunroof was the same as yours ,we hoovered out the loose then got a mini roller with the rust cure on and painted inside the roof and the bits we could not get to we used a squirty bottle with it in ,Yep would paint the inner wings and bulkhead aswell
hello people sorry for the delay with the up dates but ive been a busy lad!!!, all the welding is now done so im filling/repairing for primer at the moment, the worst job was the roof, once id got rid of the rot i had some pin holes which i had to weld up! but ive gone to town on the rust proofing on the underside using POR 15 metal ready which is a type of acid to neutralise the rust then i used black POR 15 rust encapsultor which is absolutely permanent, it seals in the rust forever!, its used in the marine industry and is guaranteed to be a permanent cure for surface rust,it comes with a warning on the tin that if u get it on your skin only time will remove it!!!!! after this i gave it a coat of white hammerite over the top, once its painted i will nuke it in wax oil aswell. once its in primer i will get some more pics up any comments would be appreciated
