Default hummmmmm .......

right lads tryed geting my car started and worked left it running for a bit 15mins ish and it went rite up to half way, header tank was boiling, steam cumming from the header tank cap and the water pipes from the rad was hot !!!

so turned it off not wanting to do more damage and i could hear bubbling cumming from around the rad and when i could feel the rad top pipe leading to the theromstat it was bubbling still seems to have air in it would this be right ???

also my fan didnt kick in should it have kicked in be4 and would the fan not cummin in before half way effect the water that much it would boil ??

The fan should cut in just after half way.
to bleed the system i leave the cap off, and take the small hose ontop of the thermoustat housing off till water spurts out.

Does your thermoustat open?
is your fan switch working?
bridge the fan with a small piece of wire between the 2 connectors on the plug (fan side) when the temp guage gets to around half way and see if it cools it down. that's if the fan doesnt come on.
is the header tank camp making a sufficient seal, as the system will not cool if their is no pressure.

Is their anti freeze in the system? i think a 60/40 mix of anti freeze is right.
is your rad hot all over, bottom/top? might need a flush? did your old headgasket go or did you just replace it when fitting the stg2? head?

All i can think of mate.

try pumping the top pipe then the bottom to make a flow,

ie,top squeeze as you let go ,squeeze the bottom, and so on,

could be an air lock, stopping the flow!

mind you ,the impellar on your pump could be away, check the flow first, just a warm engine or even cool will get it flowing,

pump and squeeze, incedently, wots gone on before this happened?

defo sounds like an air block,as the air gets hotter,it expands and pushes the water out with gusto, hence the bubbles(just call me bubbles darling!),

get the air out and it should pump around ok.

i get a feeling theirs more then one problem if your fans in all the time specially in this weather it should never get upto halfway so get the fan problem sorted be it a fan switch or some wiring fault as you will end up blowing a relay then meting your fusebox then fookin up your loom if you have bled it and changed thermostat and you are sure their are no leaks then id say water pump could be fooked change that and take it from their

that means your pump is fine, id take the pipe that comes of the thermostat housing of and the bottom hose of the rad and reverse flus the engine with a hase pipe, do the same with rad until it runs clear.

then fill her up and take her for a spin. if your fans old it mite not be efficient enough. also have you put the multi plug on the fan in the wrong way round causing it to turn the wrong way????

were exactly does the water piss out from, ? (with the cap on) i managed to crack my header tank (by putting cols water in it when it was hot)

this means the system has lost pressure and the car over heats (ive just got a new one from ford Ł24) also try a replacement header tank cap from halford Ł4) this should give the system its pressure back.

check your tank and see if the water is pissing out side of tank.

that small pipe comes from the swirl pot (they have one as standerd) when holding revs, water should flow out consistently.

its a breather pipe. not overflow

when my car starts getting really hot, i turn on my heater fans and its drops the coolant temps (and roasts my balls lol) it sounds like youve got a blockage or air lock on the internal heater side.

Drain the whole system imo, bottom hose off the rad, hose off the thermoustat housing, let it all drain oot and start from scratch.

Makesure the fan is going the right way, and when re-filling take the hose off the top of the thermoustat housing, the thin one and the air will escape that way.
when it's nearing fullness. . start the car up, level might drop a little so top up to max, leave cap off till it starts to get warm (oh and watch for water coming out the thermoustat housing where you took the hose off) put the cap back on, and wait for the fan to come on.

if that doesnt help then go to your local newsagents, buy pack of matches and 1 bottle of lighter fluid

Is the thermoustat fitted the correct way round?
