Ebay is probably your best bet.

Hardly worth the bother for an Irish plate tho tbh, ain't looked for a while but you used to be able to get irish plates for £25 + transfer fee.

You'll need a current MOT & tax to transfer the plate as well IIRC.

£80 to transfer it, if you are putting it on retention that'll be an extra £25

As long as the tax ran out less than 6 months ago you might be able to transfer it but they'll want to inspect the car, if you hurry

£500 sounds alot for an irish reg, was this a 'pay us £70 to advertise it and when it sells we pay you' arrangement

what is retention

If you look around most MIB plates go for around £500-£1200 so id be happy to at least get a couple back for it.

They didnt ask me for any money upfront but i havnt signed anything yet

Has to have been taxed in the last 6 months (which his has )

If it's not taxed they may (read will in my experience ) want to inspect the vehicle.

Taken from the V778/1 sat in front of my. Got to fork out another £105 to take my plate off the bike tomorrow

£80 to transfer it directly to another vehicle.

£105 to put it on 'retention' which means they send you proof of entitlement which you use to transfer it to another car within 12 months.
