Default Replace fuel after 16 months or not?

Hi,

Next month my new engine will we build (for my saff 2wd).
Now I was wondering, the car has stood still for about 16 months, with one third of the fueltank full.

Would you empty and refill the tank, because the current fuel in it has been there for 16 months?

Definetly.....the fuel will have gone stale.

Drain it and put it in your lawn mower

It'll have lost octane but still usable surely so long as it was driven gently??

But then 1/3 tank is like Ł15 isn't it? I'd just top it up with Optimax and use it up 'cos I'm a tight arse.

I don't think leaving a tank empty will allow it to corrode internally......have you ever seen the inside of a tank corroded? Cos I haven't

I had mine off a while back after the car was stood empty for 2 years and the inside was like BRAND new!!!

Just use it, and don't thrash it until you've filled up with fresh fuel!

And like Matt says I hope your tanks not rusted too much

There's some truth in doing it and not doing it..
I'll be driving the first 2000km without going higher then 3000rpm,
but on the other side, the engine costed me a fortune...

Depends how picky you want to be, left my car for 11months and it was ok, not as if your going to be thrashing it with a new engine is it?
