Yep its Thrushs old S1 brought for £1100 after much hagglling!! lol

It dont look to bad in the pics but did have damage to the N/S door and as i latter found out quite a lot of rust!!! But i knew it was not mint hence the price.

A week after getting it home and its stripped



And the floor pans are being replaced



Flintstone style, should get good MPG and dry use only!! lol
The old and the new floor waiting to be cut and welded in



And the floor pan all welded in thats 3 done now, one to go



Thats it for now, i want to try and finish the floor this comming week and also need to drop the fuel as it needs welding under the rear seat.

Hi!

It's taken me 2.5 years so far but that is because I have done things in a certain way, wanted cetain bits, had to save money for things etc etc...

I spent 12 months on the shell and then another 18 months on the mechanical and electrical etc...

It's not quite complete and has been at the stage it is at now for about 3 months....just needs a few little jobs and an engine and box (not a standard ebuild and standard box which is why it's taking so long).

Website needs vastly updating.....it's about 16 months out of date!!!

 

Good to see another series 1 being brought back to life


Daz, out of date i have stripped and rebuilt my car since that web site was up dated lol

The outter sill is really rusty, its all got to come off



Once the front of the sill and the outter a post had been taken off it showed how rotten the inner sill and bottom of the inner wing was.



Just shows how rust hides away, you could not see any of this with the outter skin on



No wonder the door did not close very well, iam suprised the door did not just drop off when it was opened!!! lol



Here i have cut all the rusted metal out of the lower inner wing and about to start welding it all back together.

Should have some more pics soon.

Right some more pics ive been a busy boy this week



The filler neck is well rusty and you do not get this panel unless you replace the whole rear wing so i will have to make one up.



With the outer arch removed it shows how rotten the inner rear arch is, its all got to be replaced.



The inner arch all removed to, should be able to get some massive rims on now!!!!! lol Only joking!!



With the repairs all done on the inner A post time to put the new outter skin on.



Another job that needs doing is to replace the rear sections of the front inner wings, as you can see theres a massive crack there!!! Nightmare!!!



Me in "action" lol!!! Welding the outter sill on, at last its starting to look a bit more like a car this side, just the other side to do now!!! lol
