Default S2 insurance for 18 year old??

Anyone here 18-19 and have a S2. If so how much is you insurance and where from??
Havent phoned for a quote yet just thought i would see what ppl on here say!
Think the S2 is insurance group 16 and had a Escort Gti which is 15. Do you think there is gonna be a massive jump?

Cheers Mattie

Yup, more nickable and tend to go a smidge quicker

Best thing is, ring round and get quotes, you may be surprised or you may have a heart attack!

yeh looks like i'll have too. The only other think i thought about is that i have a *cough* Nova too which allows me to drive any car/motorbike Third party. so thought about getting my pops to insure the turbine and me use it @ weekends under the nova policy.
Think this option is a bit risky (spelling) tho

i Assume i would have to join the RSOC to get a policy?

Also the S2 is an E plate.. would that be old enough to qualify for classic car insurance?

im 27 and have only held a license for two and a half years with two years no claims and ive just had to stump up Ł750 tpft a month ago and now ive bought a RS 2000 its gone up Ł141. i was with performance direct but when i tried changing the car th a turbo they said the company they had put me with wouldnt insure it so i had to find another. insurance has a lot to do with ur postcode as well. good luck and check the small print cause i got a qoute for about Ł650 but when i started asking more questions i found out it had a Ł500 excess which is f***ing stupid!!!!!!

The gti was insured with asda. I've got pass plus which really helped. Having pass plus took the quote down from Ł1400 to Ł750. which was nice

I was paying I think 1100 fpft a few yrs bk when I was 19. on my first rs, that was with performance direct who at the time were the best quote I managed. I would say try HIC too, dunno if they have a age policy or not tho Or tesco's, worth a try!

my mate went with hic and i tried getting a qoute from them . they were cheap but they wanted a alot of the money up front(i pay it monthly cause im not rich) and have big excesses! and worst of all my mate who went with them started his insurance on january 2nd 2004 and had his car nicked on the 10th and he is still waiting for them to pay him out> what was worse is he is minted and paid his insurance off in full on the 2nd!!

LOL andy.. I know of a nice Red, E plate that im getting at a good price

Think i'll spend the weekend getting some quotes. Gonna try and see if i can insure it under classic car, with limited mileage. Just use the turbine @ weekends and use the *cough* nova to and from work!!
