Just fitted my new wheels but got a problem! (PICS)
I put the 40mm springs on the back while I was there and now they rub like hell!
Arches could be rolled / grinded back but has anyone tried adding extra bump stops?

James, was thinking that zorst looked pretty big too
Wheels look top mate, but I think you are always gunna have probs with 8" wide cossy wheels on a s2, unless it is up high, but either way I think u will need to roll the arches

Car looks really nice mate!
I had the same prob with my car on the rear when i fitted my wheels, rubbing when i hit a biggish bump or cornering quite quick, fitted some rubber spring spacer/bumpstops and it sorted the prob right out, my wheels never touch now and it doesn't even notice on the rear suspension!

cheers for the comments guys, I know esc cos rims are not the right offset and they arent to everyones taste but I like em
Think I might give the sping assistors a try but i dont think it will be enough on its own.
Might have to cut the arch back a bit.

id look at the screw where the rear bumper mounts steve m8 as thats where they tend to rub looks fekin ard tho m8 so when am i gonna get to see it seein as i dont even see u no more
Be careful - limiting the suspension travel with bumpstops isn't the way to make it handle nicely... but then nor is fitting wheels with the wrong offset - I guess it depends why you choose the wheels
If you machine the back of the wheel the inner bit of the rim and tyre will hit the shock absorber if you take too much off.
Theres no point grinding/rolling the arches either as the wheels sit far to far out and will still hit.
Stiffer and higher suspension or new wheels is the only answer IMO.

mine are 7.75" and they catch very slightly on the plastic arch on the drivers side, theres no scope for moving them closer to the shock (machining of the back of the wheel) as I cant get a finger between them. Id say above 7.5" is too wide for the rear of a series 2, also means I cant fit rear discs without getting the discs machined down to keep the wheels in the same place.
IMO 40mm is way too low for any RS!
25mm springs, and grind the arches back till the lip has gone then get your mayteee to weld up the seam (Otherwise the inner and outer two layers come apart)
No rubbing and looks tough

Im looking to get some major bodywork done in the new year, but in the meantime I wanna try stiffening the suspension. Can only give it a try, its something I can undo. Unlike cutting away at arches or machining the wheels.
Cheers for u're replies guys
