1.Get a mate to help you,as its a tight fit.
2.Take you're time,be carefull and dont lose you're patience!!!!!
3.Have a fire extingusher handy when welding in the floor strenghten plates as the underseal will catch fire.

Do the cages differ from series 2 to series1 and with/without sunroofs? Looking to make some larger plates to spread the load as such, but thanks for the advice
I see from the siggy you look track bias so can i put a suspension question to you. In the wet/damp is it better to be softer on the dampers and harder in the dry.
Looking to do a few more trackdays next year might see you there.

I know that OMP make 2 different roll cages,1 for a sunroof fitted car and 1 without.,I dont know about other makes but would imagion they do aswell. When ordering youre cage tell them if you have a sunroof fitted. Also, some cages run tight to the bulkhead and need the dash cut at the ends, others dont,so ask questions before you order to see how the cage runs inside the car.Personnally it wouldnt bother me to cut the end of the dash, but other owners may not want too.I personally dont know if a cage would fit both a S1 and a S2,at a guess I'd be 90% sure it would, but again find out when ordering.
For a wet track you should soften up youre dampers and reduce tyre pressure a little. You will have to experiment with the pressures but around 5 psi less (when cold) would be a good starting point.Hope this info is off value to you, regards Micky

6 hours!!!!!!!! He's having a giraffe mate!! More like 6 days....they are a pain in the arse!!

Bascially [instuctions for a Safety Devices 6 pointer]:

Strip the interior [Front/Rear Seats/Rear Quarter Panels/Carpet/Soundproffing/interior clock/sun visors/sill trim]

Loosley fit the cage in place [you will need 2 maybe 3 people to do this without scratching it/the car]. It will be a very very tight fit. I.E. hard up against the dash/roof/A pillar/C pillar and rear arches.

Then push the mounting plates under all 6 mounting points and mark by scratching the paint.

Remove the cage.

Stip underseal from under mounting points

Weld plates into car

Drill holes for bolts as necessary [Will require you to remove rear wheels]

Paint and underseal as necessary

Cut carpet and refit

[At this point make sure you empty the glove box other wise you'll have to remove the cage once fitted to get your belongings out. Like I did ]

Fit cage and bolt in place

Refit trim around cage [you will need to modify rear quarters/front door pockets/sill trim].

Have a look at the pics:
