Its actually Dangerous's area, nothing to do with my stuff. I trade Emerging market Eurobonds.

I just looked up the stock and so you understand the graph looks like the power curve on a badly specced yb engine on a T200 Turbo! It suddenly SHOT up after doing fook all for years!

There are pics and articles in the broadsheets about our day yesterday. ICAP raised over Ł5m pounds for good causes. Had loads of celebs and stuff around all day and we were all in fancy dress. Was fun day

I actually find this stuff absolutely facinating after buying wholesale gas and power for Kodak on the forward and spot markets (circa Ł10m/year).

Now I'm an energy consultant and keep a watching brief on Carbon prices and Energy prices but I do fancy moving into trading.

How did you guys get into it (especially Lee as I know you did sports science didn't you? )

I just stumbled into the business 20 years ago when i moved to Reading. They needed someone with good phone manner to collate orders from braches in the provinces & then route to the London market floor (before your time Porkie eh )

Liked the industry & I passed the exams required to trade

Worked myself up to Director of trading in Retail biz (pioneered the online trading model for the UK) processd Ł20bn through my desk yearly with 6 traders.

Now working as a sales trader finding & placing big lines of stock (mainly UK but some European) with institutions.
As example had a Ł20m order yesterday

Remember that in this business we work long hours though I do about 14 hours a day Ok travel 4 of them but still 10 hours at the desk

If you get it wrong IT COSTS !!

Personally i would like the adrenelin rush of it, that would actually interest me more than the personal financial gain, but ive always been a thrills junky.

Im very envious of your position, but it certainly sounds like you have earnt it

Very unlikley Chip

But i do know of one who was that good his firm registered him to trade without even passing the exams
Only problem with that is you cant take the qualification with you to another firm so you are a bit tied
