You didnt read that quite carefully enough:

How do i go about buying a 1% share in your losses from wherever they are going to?

ie i want 1% of the gains people are making off you being a loser, not vice versa.

Dangerous/Lee/Dave have you guys heard of Joe Lewis, trades in Currency and Pharmacutical stocks and i beleive he was behind a program called HotSpot for tracking currency fluctuations, i have seen his man trade some ridiculous money in board shorts and t-shirt whilst the big man plays golf ,

I went to the NYSE before 9/11 was very intersting watching

Anyone see the Mizuho securites 'fat finger' error trade yesterday?!?!?!?!??!

Just can't believe it really happened. Guy meant to sell 1 share of j-com at 610,00 yen. He typed it wrongly and sold 610,000 shares at 1 yen each!

Lost his company around $225m they think.

On the day of the Christmas party which was cancelled. Bonus pools have been frozen as well I think.

Yep, I heard about that! The order was more than 42 times the total of J-Com's outstanding shares, which stood at 14,500. I bet that caused a stir on the Tokyo Stock Exchange!!

Not that funny if people loose their bonus money that they have worked their nuts off for all year though... through no fault of their own.

Properly scary stuff.

News info says that the company tried to buy the shares back through "proprietary trading" - what does that mean?

Dave, i find it both funny and tragic.

Im sure he already has a few quid in the bank and wont be homeless living in a bus shelter or anything, but yes i can see how upsetting it must be for him.

But i do still find it funny that can happen so easily.

I dont mean for the guy who input the error.. I mean for the rest of the comapny who as Lee says, probably worked their nuts off for their bonus!

Why should that industry be any different to any other?

We've had a fantastic year, and were looking forward to a hefty bonus at the end of the year, then last month one of our biggest Customers went into Administration taking with it almost half a million of our money. We're not getting any bonus now, and we've all worked our nuts off all year thru and this is no fault of our own.

Sh1t happens everywhere

Not that bothered about him mate, He made a huge error... he can deal with it. But he has cost alot of people the money they have worked very hard for.

Its a tiny order and a horrific mistake... I have a feeling this is a real junior person.

But I suppose its only money... other people make mistakes and it costs lives so actually its not the end of the world is it

I agree, in pretty much any Sales role they rely on their bonus rather than their basic, its the risk you take choosing to work in such a volatile environment.

I agree with Chip on this rare occasion, some people take money far too seriously.

Totally, alot of the traders at that bank would have small basics and alot would have been depending on the money they KNOW they would almost certainly be getting.
