Default whats the cost of building a ZVH bottom end??

Please can someone help me out.

my bottom end on my Turbo is prity much fooked, its cracked 2 pistons and the con rods dont look to healthy,
so i have been pricing up how much a set of low comp pistons are to replace mine, and a set of new con rods and a re-bore just be be safe.

the pistons are £400
the con rods are about £100
re-bore about £80ish

so i recon im looking at about £600 to re-build my bottom end. so if the standard CVH bottom end is going to cost this,is it worth going down the ZVH route instead.
so what i need to know is how much roughly is a 1.8 zetec bottom end going to cost to have built in parts and machining.

i dont want to go 2.0l really, 1.8 is fine for me.

cheers

Ive got a 1.8zvh, u could build one for under £1000, well I did with new pistons etc etc, It really depends on how far u want to go with the engine as u will have to upgrade clutch/gearbox

well the cars running about 200bhp,and has an uprated clutch fitted anyway, so that side of things is sorted anyway,
its just a matter of, do i build the cvh bottom end back together, or build a zetec bottom end.

well, 2 reasons for me,
1 is that you can use the standard CVH headgasket on the 1.8
and
2 i dont want to put to much torque throw the gearbox, as there not the stongest of gearboxes on the cvh unless you go buy a uprated box

In my opinion, I would build a zvh they are more reliable than standard cvh bottom ends, But if I was to build another 1, it would be a 2.1 with vauxhall 16v mahle pistons as it costs about the same

Course it'll be better... your upgrading the parts...

So you cant really compare it to a standard bottom end

I used standard zetec pistons in my 1.8 and everything else standard on the bottom end
