LOL @ Old hat...

It will always be 100% to be able to run any type of engine that anyone on here will use in their cosworth or fwd.

If it was good enough for the WRC CARS im sure its good enough for these engine we are building now days to use in an ERST. Whats the best engine you can build 2l 16v zetec.....come on you do not need an after market management system for that.. If i had a F1 engine then yeah!

One of the best ways to go is weber (cosworth) as it is great value for money and anyone in the country can map it 100%

Do you think you would have any different results using weber instead of any other management system? ...... NO!

The parts to run weber or any management system are the same in most ways. Most use the same sensors and components

Sorry, I agree with TT.

Webber is old hat. The latest revision is at least 10 years out of date. It is still capable and will do what the vast majority of people want it to do though.

Where do you think the aftermarket Webber Alpha management system has come from? It's more or less the old Cossie system made for the aftermarket after it was ditched from main stream vehicle manufacturing. I think Fiat/Lancia where the last to run Webber up till around 1998.

The Webber system is not sophisticated enough for what I want so I bought something a little more special, which will be fitted in the first half of next year.

A list of all the parts and prices can be found by clicking on the sig mate.

A loom to run Weber (Cosworth) costs me around Ł75 - 100 then i have to take it all apart and make if not only fit the ESRT/FRST engine bay but also make it look like it was ment to be there from the start. This takes quite alot of time to get right as some sensors need longer wires to connect to the loom, some shorter etc etc... All looms are checked on a running engine before they are sent out.

I will not have a loom just laying all over the engine bay getting wound up around the driveshafts

I charge Ł75 to do all the work on the loom (THIS IS NOT A QUOTE JUST GUIDANCE)

If you would like to use a coil pack, i install a custom loom from either pectel which will cost Ł150 or Ryan which costs Ł65 both items are spot on.

If you have any questions please ask.

Regards
Jano

O yeah what makes your setup so far advanced?

That a WRC management cant handle

As you say most after market systems are based on the weber one which has been industry standard for 15 years then a little extra items added like each injector being able to be controled + a few other bits and pieces that are reallly not needed for our use. Remember we are not building a F1 engine!

One of the reason's i can think of running different ECU's is if you need to use a muiltimap option, which i need to run this.

Group A mate! The last of the Works Group A cars used Pectel before moving onto WRC, which was Pectel again.

What I said was the Webber Alpha aftermarket management is an advancement on the Cossie/Ferrari/Fiat/Lancia management system from when it was dropped as a main stream management system on production cars.

Jano, the Webber Marelli can run multi maps, just not on a Pectel board.

Alpha price list.

Your best best is to ask APT or Power Engineering how much for a drive in, drive out Omex engine management conversion and tell them what features you want from the ECU (anti lag, closed loop boost or fueling control etc).

Then ring Jano for a Cossie management conversion as above.

Then ring Mark at MAD about an Autronics conversion.

Etc etc. Then make your descision.

Don't forget mapping as well.
