I've always prefer nVidia cards to ATI, but it's all down to personal preference......and, I'm assuming your motherboard has support for AGP:

I agree, but with a budget of £200, a new motherboard (possibly a new processor and memory) AND graphics card is going to be somewhat impossible...

Nvidia 6800 (not the GT or ultra) - £111 cant go wrong for that money and plays bf2 at full graphics perfect!

Andy, Overclockers no longer stock that graphics card And the £111 was only for a week.

Now, You want a 68800Gt or equivalent to run BF2 i'm afraid. With a budget of 200 sheets you scrape in with one of the bottom of the range cards

I've been scanning the puter sites for the past few days with no real success as to what card to buy to run this poxy game.

800 x 600 with low detail is bringing tears to my eyes

well then you should have taken my advice and not missed the boat

The 6800 normal WILL run BF2 perfectly @ full graphics Dan, you dont need a 6800GT, altho if you got the money to spend then yeah buy a GT

800 x 600 @ low detail .................. See "boat missed" for £111 you could have had max detail @ 1280 x 1024

if you are not interested in overclocking it has got to be a 6800GT for your price range.

Be aware that 6800GT's in the AGP format are rapidly going out of stock everywhere due to the AGP format being discontinued and replaced by the PCI-E format!

By "max detail" what exactly do you mean ?

I can't run it at 1280x1024 with everything maxxed out without getting a bit of stutter and thats with an overclocked 7800GTX on an AMD X2 3800+

You meant micro direct yeah ?

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...33&GroupID=304

That is the only one I would consider buying personally, but, I would search the net for reviews / issues people have had with it. Hence why I use ebuyer

I would aslo up the ram to 3 gig m8 3 x 1024 sticks

Dont forget with the new MB i think your need a new CPU to fit it and a better power supply. The power supply is more important than the other bits, without it providing enough of the right power it wont run ......... as we found out huh dan ?

True, you need a genuine 350+ watt power supply for a graphics card of that magnitude to run properly.

And so, the rebuild begins.

Mr Manchester, as it stands, you now need. New PSU, New Motherboard, New CPU, quite possibly a new case depending on the one you have

Thank you brother kindly for his assistance
