New tax???????????
Now i openly admit this should go to the dummy room. BUT heres my view as i believe non gold members hould be able to reply to this as well
born free taxed to death
has anyone read about the new tax? Its called an improvement tax believe it or not that the LABOUR govt want to introduce next year or so
They want EVERY house re-valued etc and if you have a conservatory or a shed or even a nice view, yes thats right A NICE VIEW the will tax you for it.
So my mate is a BUILDER, look at all the implications this will cause. Not just builders but glaziers the plastics industry etc etc. This government is so naive to think that by imposing this tax that it wont cost jobs.
Of course it will. And that isnt fair on decent honest working blokes like my mate As for nice views, ill be paying my mate to brick up me windows to avoid such a ridiculous tax.
ADvice>dont vote labour next year. I am even going to post this thread to 10 downing street.com

My Grandma has been waiting on a op for 2yrs now for her hip and is still waiting even stopped her working all because the waiting list is so bloody long And WHY because there is'nt the funding to help cut the waiting lists !
And now she is Just getting by on whot the govement give her
But we can feed and give homes to all the f*%king Imergent (sp) F*% that give them a Plane home And sort out the Money problem in this country to all the hospitals and schools
Probably not a popular opinion, but I believe we should be giving NOTHING to other countries in foreign aid...
We need to get this government out as soon as possible......unfortunately, too many people seem to be blinkered (ie. only looking in their own little areas) and think they're doing a good job.

Are you thinking about the property revaluation for Council Tax?
That has been on the cards for years but been put off because it would harm re-election chances if even bigger bills start arriving ahead of an election.
When they brought the council tax in, why not base it on the price paid for your house. If you stay put and improve your home it doesn't put the tax bill up, but keeps the double glazing boys etc busy.
If you decide to up sticks and move, you pay tax on whatever your new house costs and the guy buying your old one pays his tax on the price he just paid for your home.
Could take some heat out of the property market while encouraging improvements in housing stock, and stop folks feeling they are penalised for doing so.
In reality, the Councils keep wasting so much cash on hare-brained schemes, they'll just crank up the % of your house that they want!

fuel has about 60% tax
then you pay road tax
council tax
and what is sneaky (or stealth) is that the 40% income tax threshold hasn't risen in line with inflation/cost of living for the whole time labour has been in , so you are in fact paying 40% on more than you did 10 years ago in real terms
20 billion surplus to (soon to be) 30 billion deficit - job well done!
Failed tax credit schemes, cost of higher education drastically increased, long waiting lists in hospitals, National Rail debt written off as a 'private concern' (despite the fact it's a national service i.e. government), extremely underfunded transport system (all the money was poured into NHS, education and other infrastructure - not that you'd notice!) - the list goes on!
Lots of spending on public services which are all proving to be failing and unheard of consumer debt - time is running out for Gordon Brown! If you were to invest such a huge amount of money - wouldn't you demand better results?
Anyone else watch that program on his missing billions?

They can't fund our health service but can find millions of pounds to send over seas at drop of a hat
We need to get our own house in order before we give hard earn tax money away to foreign countries
