Default I am putting a cossie engine in my mk2 escort, need help

The cossie engine is on carbs. The starter motor is too long, it hits the world cup x member. I need a shorter one, so which one do I use? Also need the water hoses etc, would a normal sierra set of hoses fit as I am using a Pinto rad.

Cheers

Garry

the x member is about 10-12 inches away from the gear box, and the starter motor is just too long to slide into the gear box.
