24V Cossie engine owners prepare to wank yourself silly...

Thats a very good for 10's for that bhp, it must have been running more. 24v TT seem to run more torque than bhp so I think Ian was on the blag. The engine has more than 600 bhp if he wants to give it .
why you think that??
with the terminal speed and the weight of the car id day 530bhp seems about right, 130-131mph isnt mega speed.
the time will also be down to the fact its got a mental transmisison and proper tyres.
it ran low 11s the rest of the day.
if it was 600+ id say that would be a poor time going by the rest of the spec.

indeed, im pretty sure the car is a race car (ie built for competition not a track day toy) so should have all the proper bits to make it quite quick
i heard (ie dunno if its bullshit or not) that it's a hillclimb car?
Bloodyhell, bit more info, direct from Turbo Technics...
The car uses a 2.9 scorpio cosworth engine using our own pistons, standard rods and standard crank. The heads have been modified with larger exhaust valves, and it uses our own 12 injector setup. It also uses apair of our own petrol VNT T28's, designed in house. The management is taken care of by a Pectel ecu.
The shell is a 3-door sierra shell with our own roll cage and coil-over suspension. Transmission is stock sierra XR4x4 running gear including gearbox and diffs.
Beleive it or not, this car only runs 15psi boost, which equates to 530bhp and 500lb-ft of torque. The engine can run 700bhp, but we are waiting on a Hewland box before we can take the power any further.
The VNT's can be adapted to fit any car, you just need to modify the manifold flange and downpipe flange. They are incredible turbos. The sierra runs 15psi, and we get about 10psi at 2500 rpm. It'll hold 15 to the 7000rpm limit no problem. To be honest, with the 360 thrusts we put in them, they could quite happily run 30psi all day long.
We are currently offering these turbos as an upgrade for small engine/big turbo applications where lag would usually be a problem and for the drft guys where boost coming in mid corner would usually be a problem, but these can be adapted to fit any car. We are even contemplating offering a large single unit (around the T88 size) for the skylines/Rx-7's and supras, which could be extremely exciting.
These turbos really need to be experienced. They are absolutely lag free, and anyone who saw the car at Santa Pod can justify just how straight and fuss free the car runs. Even when bogging down off the line, it still ran a 10.92, purely because the car came right back on boost straight away.
These units are extremely reliable, far more so than BB units as they still use normal journal bearings which are, by nature, less dependant on oil pressure and flow when compared to BB turbos. They come with a full 2 year warranty.
Pricewise, about Ł700 + VAT each.
Many thanks,
Dan
