Hi Guys, thought it was about time i got some pics up of my mk4 project.
Its only my second car(im 20) which i bought in late January to take over daily duties from my mk2 Escort. Have always had a soft spot for mk4's since i was 5/6 years old when pretty much at the same time my uncle bought a brand new xr3i and my dads mate bought a few months old RST, both of them in Mercury Grey.
So decided to find myself a mint 3dr to build into a full RST, but with a difference, it had to be strato silver after seeing Ders replica in the same colour
Anyway, after a few weeks of searching i stumbled upon this 1990 model, with 61k on the clock, fsh, totally standard, and mint bodywork and paintwork. Got it for £375
Anyway, ive got 6 points, and 3 of those come off in May, so the idea is to have the car running full RST mechanicals by then. The exterior is done now apart from a bonnet, the interior is done apart from the dash and now im just about to start on the brakes ready for the blown lump
Anyway, heres a couple of pics of how shes looking at the mo, will update this post every time i get something done. Oh and if anyones got some pics of ders RST thats not from PF Daves website, then could you post them up so i can dribble over them.Cheers.
Hope you like it
Danny

right, sorry for the long delay in an update. Been too busy working on it and going to the pub
Anway, nearly there now, most 'large' jobs are done, heres a list of whats left to do and a few pics
to do
Engine: connect throttle cable, fill with mobil 1
cooling:buy and fit new radiator(picking one up on wednesday), fit intercooler
Transmission: fit gear linkage, fit clutch cable, fill with oil
Brakes: Bleed
Interior: fit door cards, Fit stereo and speakers, hoover out
Electrics-pass wires down tailgate for central locking, fit electric window mechanism and central locking solenoid on drivers side and in tailgate.fit alternator and wiring.
fuel:fit new tank and fit fuel pump assembly
So all in, its me day off on wednesday, and if the weathers good, i want it finished
and now the bit everyone loves-piccies!!!
new fuel pump carrier from Auto Specialists, insulator rubbers from ford and nuts from work. Floor mounting plate(that the carrier bolts to)arrives at my local ford dealer 2moro.

RST callipers fitted, along with new discs and pads. Standard stuff for now, will get uprated once the cars up and running and running some more power.

Rear end showing Scorpion exhaust(no magnex unfortunatly
) and clear rears.

engines all in and most ancillaries and wiring connected. Fitted air metering unit etc 2nite which isnt in these pics.Got a new header tank from Ford

Me old man picked up my new fuel tank today, a bargain at £63
Thanks to the guys at Allwoods in Lincoln for that

And finally the old girl that helped make this happen, feels horrible braking an RS(in my favourite colour too
, well, apart from strato silver
) but the shell really is beyond hope

Hopefully a good update on Wednesday(if im not out and about driving it
)

Car looks great mate, first time i've looked at the thread and very impressed with it!
Keep the clear rears IMO, a Silver car is about the only colour you can get away with them IMO
Have you sold the donor car yet, pleeeeeeeeease tell me you didn't scrap the mirrors it had on it, i'll have them straight off you if you've still got them, think DTM Cup mirrors are the bollox on any car!
Let me know fella!
