hi, im off to usc this weekend and will be having a few racing against some of my mates rs turbos, the thing is ive never done one before, and my mate has done a few, our engine specs are similar.

Is it best to redline my car, or change at where my peak power is met, mine is only around 4.5k as my head is standard making my car with a nasty boost spike and very punchy

my mate done it in 14.41 the other week, i reckon i could beat that, but i think i could do with some advice first!

 

Change just after peak power if you know where it is.

 

cheers mate, a recent rolling road showed its just after 4k, but then it wasnt a brillant rolling road

 

wouldnt be much point changing gear at 4.5k on std head id change up at about 5.5-6k.

You have to make the most of the laggy t3 remember 14.4 is quite a respectable quarter mile time for an escort rst just noticed your runnning 21psi if youv never done one before good luck breaking your mates record

 

hope i get the car back, having an ib5 box and new clutch installed now, they have had it since monday, only starting it today, just drove past but i couldnt see it on the ramp

told them last week it has to be done by friday

if not gonna ring them at lunch and pick it up with the rst box and slipping clutch

i see why i do most work myself on my car nowadays, just had the money so i thought fuck getting my hands dirty for once!!
