Default Insurance Tossers, please advise....

Bit of a bitch, but i also need to find out what i can do.

My cossie is up for sale and I've just bought a Fiesta ST, Adrian Flux (the fooking useless b*stard tossers) who I've got the cossie insured with wouldn't change my policy over to cover the Fiesta (no idea why, they just wouldn't) So even though I've paid the 10 installments for this year and there's only a month left to run on the policy, they said the only way they'd insure me on the ST is if I cancel the cosworth insurance (even though it's all paid for) I can take out a new policy for the ST, but I'd lose this years no claims as the policy hasn't run it's course.

Obviously I didn't want to do that as I'd shit out so I got some other quotes from different companies and Elephant came out tops (£500 when Adrian flux wanted £2000 ) I rang elephant and explained the situation and was told that as long as I've made the 10 payments then adrian flux would have to release the proof of my no claims bonus.

I took out the policy with Elephant after having this explained to me and when the cover note etc turned up there was a letter requesting my no claims proof within 7 days.

Fair enough, so I' ve just rang Adrian Flux and had a right argument with the twat on the phone as he won't send my no claims proof until I either cancel the policy (which as I've said has already been paid for) and lose this years no claims or I've got to wait until the policy exires in 4 weeks, meanwhile elephant are going to either whack my policy price right up if I can't send them my no claims proof or cancel the policy meaning I lose my deposit.

What the f*ck can i do?

get onto the insurence omsbudmen (or howerver you spell it) about adrian flux - they will get on the case as technically, what they are doing is illegal

Elephant are wank. DO NOT USE!!!!!!! They are part of the Admiral group that also do Diamond. Total waste of time and money. After the grief I had with Admiral and the piss poor service my sister had after a non fault accident I wouldn't pass them the time of day.

Why is what Adrian Flux doing illegal??

As far as they are concerned they could send your No-Claims bonus out and then 2 weeks later you could make a claim

You'll just have to wait the 4 weeks mate I reckon

Would have to agree with you there Oranoco, my partner had an accident with another car, the other bloke's insurance is with Elephant, they started ringing every day saying it was all my partners fault although they were warned about pestering us!

Dont panic, Elephant are actually pretty helpful if you speak to them on the phone. Give them a ring and explain the situation, tell them you need to wait 4 weeks before you can give them proof of your no claims as your previous Company havn't yet sent it, alternatively they will offer to contact them for you. They will diarise to contact you again nearer to the time, they did this for me

I've said it time and time again to people......although I feel very sorry for you mate....NOONE SHOULD EVER USE FLUX!!!

I ended up almost taking them to court over money due back five years ago and they still have not changed obviously! I know so many people who have had issues with them it's unreal. The more people who complain to the financial ombudsman the better and they'll get shut down.

Still, on the other hand they wont give you your NCB as the policy hasn't run its course probably so if they wont give you the NCB I should ring elephant and demand your money back. You are entitled to rescind the contract within a certain period...usually 7-14 days and quote what you were told by the advisor i.e. that Flux would give you your NCB, which was incorrect information which was the basis of you taking out cover. If they say they didn't say that then ask for the tape to prove it. Most likely, as flux did with me, they say they don't have the tape. In that way they HAVE to give you your money back or the ombudsman will get them to give it to you if you complain to them. HTH

Steve, I did have HUGE problems with Diamond, wont touch them with a barge pole ever again.

Elephant were cheap as chips for my Fiesta, hence why I went with them, with regards to my no claims stuff they were very helpful hence why I have posted what I have above............ but what I failed to mention was the blazing row I had with some stuck up bint from there last week because she charged £10 to my Credit card for changing my address!!!!!!!! Its not the money I kicked off about it was the principal, I told them I wished i'd never bothered telling them i'd moved house, to which she replied "Witholding information could result in you being banned from driving" That was the point at which I hung up!

Had agro with Flux as well. No complaints until we claimed after the numbnut ran into the back of the XR. Cheeky fookers told us it was worth £500. AFter pointing out the mods we were accused of not disclosing them (which we had). After they found we had disclsoed the mods they kindly upped the offer to £800 It was only once we threatened to go to the insurance obudsman we got a proper settlement
