Default FAO Demondave r.e my refund *NEW UPDATE 27/8*

the first topic:

https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=131571

So everything looks well......

Strange fact is the engine and stuff where in Holland, where i live
but couldn't be delivered by me..... WHY NOT??? I don't know!
So david comes with the idea: i send you the money back. That was a good idea i thought and gave him my bank details

Next thing is i get a pm from david he send the refund with the post....
and the insurrance is 500 quid. And the money david put in the letter was 1490 quid

I gave him the bank details so he can do it with a banktransfer
But david did it with the post

So today i got a letter with no money in it

some pm's from david:

wich i replied with:

there wouldn't be a pain in the arse if you just send it with DHL or UPS which are outstanding companies, how come i am a pain in the arse??
is it because things went wrong, things you toke care off?
i am still waiting for my money or my engine!!

greets

Please help me i don't know what to do
i paid david 1490 quid and got nothing.....
I thought this was a site for people who loves ford
and have the same hobby as me: FORD

How did you pay him in the first place? Credit Card?

Did he send you pound sterling back in the envelope not even recorded delivery?

I’m afraid it sounds like you’ve been right royally shagged...

If the envelope was un-opened then surly he's pulling a fast one and you should asking him to sort payment via paypal or bank transfer ASAP before you get legal on him.

No one in their right mind would send that sort of hard cash in that way... would they?

So we have established there was 1490 in notes in an envelope that was supposed to be sent to you? Who would send that?! I have had a 10pound note taken from a birthday card when I was about 15 by the postal system. Who isnt going to try and take 1490quid, if it was sent

If it can only be insured to 500quid why did he not send 3 envelopes with 500quid in each envelope (well 2 x 500 and 1 x 490)

Johan RS - you should have checked with others on here before transferring him that money. Didnt it seem strange that he could sort it from England but you couldnt sort it from your own country?

I know a fair few people off here and I still wouldnt expect any of them to trust me with 50quid never mind 1500quid.

What was the reason he could sort it from England and you couldnt sort it from Holland?

Stop using the . !!! You will shoot yourself in the foot as no one will take you seriously!

I bought cossiemanagement from Paul Ripley what went perfect, no probs!!
I paid him the money and when he got the money he send it to me, in less then 3 days I had it!!!
Demondave wanted the money and when he had the money he would send the engine and stuff, so I thought everything went well with Paul, so lets do it the smae way. So I paid him the money, he said he sent the engine and stuff, couldn't get a number, trackingnumber or CMR-number...
Many times i asked him where the engine was and he said it was in Holland on when i asked him where he said in a depot....
Then I got a pm from him that he can get the engine back and will send me a refund..

So I couldn't sort out anything because i didn't have any numbers to track...

greets

So he told you he had sent the engine but didnt have a tracking number and then got the engine back from the "depot" before sending you your money back in an envelope.

What doesnt add up to me and if you are reading this Demondave maybe you can explain.

If he paid the engine person/company and then got the money back from them it must have come back to a credit card/account somewhere yet he said he cant transfer yuo the money as he is overdrawn.

I have sent a lot of stuff from here to UK Passionford members. The most important and only thing that proves it was sent was a tracking no. of some sort. I always provide the recipient with one as soon as I have posted it and also ask they let me know when it arrives. To not be able to provide you with one is very odd indeed.

To then post the cash back to you which must have come from somewhere (an account of some sort, that could also have been used to transfer it electronically to you) is insane

I noticed on the other thread someone knew Dave. Can that person get the info off Dave for Johan if he doesnt have net access. Way too many things out of sync for normal postal communication.

If this fella has been ripped off for £1500 then its disgraceful!!

If it were me, for that sort of money, I would organise a trip over here to see him in person, if he has ripped you off then im sure that a few PF members would be more than happy to accompany you on a visit to his house.

I do not know the full story but in any walk of life NOONE likes a rip-off merchant, especially on what is supposed to be a friendly and community spirited website such as this one.

This thread doesnt seem to be attracting many replies mate. I would change the title on it to something that people will open.

Something like: "FAO Demondave r.e my refund"

There must be some more people on here who can help this guy. Imagine one of us sold sent some money to a someone who speaks a different language and us trying to get it back.

If he sent it recorded delivery then they will definitely insure more than £500 as I sent cash just last week and it was insured for up to a grand.
Well out of order imo.

He's obviously having you!

1) unable to provide a trackingno.
2) unable to retrieve engine
3) unable to transfer money
4) unable to insure over 500 pounds
5) empty envelope arriving

Informing the Dutch police will get you absolutely nowhere at all as they'll tell you it's civilcase and not for them.
Your best bet would be sorting him out in person I reckon...

I hate to say I told you so (because I didn't) but it is a daft thing to do: sending 1500 quid over to someone you don't know and without any references.
You can go over to England for just a day so easily so that would have been much safer....where did you think he got the name 'DemonDave'???

It's probably not for helping old ladies across the street...

You may as well start arranging a solicitor. Either that or buy a plane ticket to the UK, stop on the way to his house at the sports store and buy a baseball bat, and go get your money back.

His story is blatant crap. I expect he got into debt with some dangerous people and decided to rip someone from far away off to save his own skin.

I'm amazed he didnt bolt a CVH scrapper head onto a shagged 1.6 Zetec block, do the ZVH thing and send it to you....if your gonna do it you may as well do it in style.

When you told me that he sold a block with forged pistons and Arrow rods for 1500 it was plainly obvious to me that something was not quite right.

Still - you live and learn. Always better to build trust slowly with these sort of things.

Have you not let him reply or give his side before changing the title again?? Have you not noticed that ST3V3 C says he's PM'd him to alert him to this post? Some people do not come on here in teh day, so lets just see what he's got to say.

I understand where your coming from, i really do, just think theres 2 sides to everystory thats all.

Interesting read this thread, certainly hope all isnt how it sounds (ie he is a wanker and you have been ripped off )

Real bad day for the forum if members are going to be doing that to each other

That's it mate, no one would be stupid enough to do that, that's the piss take if you ask me sent a empty envelope, knowing he'd get away with it, thinks the weight is off his shoulders cause the guy could pay the insurance
