Hi. I have a problem with my 99 T reg Focus 1.8 Zetec. I'll be driving along, then the speedo cuts out. The car then become sluggish. The next time I slow down and put the clutch in, it stalls!! Ford haven't got a clue! So please please help.

I also have a 99 T 1.8 Focus Zetec that is playing up exactly as described. What started out as an annoying niggle has now turned to a potentially dangerous fault.

How big a job is it to change the speed sensor???

I havn't got a Haynes manual as yet so detailed information would be appreciated.

Cheers
Keith

Ok I've bought a new speed sensor and roll pin and have just had a look around under the Focus. Where the heck does this sensor go as I cannot see where it fits!!

I still havn't got hold of a Haynes book yet so could anyone provide a detailed description as to whereabouts it should fit.

If you get under the car and look above the drivers side driveshaft where it goes into the gearbox its above there on the gearbox casing and it reads of the diff

Cheers, I'll attempt to fit the new sensor this week. There's that much wiring and such underneath compared to my last ford (Orion 1.6i).
I think I best invest in a Haynes book after all.
