Default Why would my conrods be in the wrong order?

stripping my engine today...........

https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...11256&start=40

...............they are in the wrong order

its (from memory)

4 Back
2
1
3 Front

PLUS only two are Stamped on the cap top (1 & 4), the other two have barely visible stamp marks in the side of the caps

they all have etched 4 or 5 digit numbers in the side of the caps which correspond to the etched numbers in the side of the rods... but rods 1 and 4 are from one sequence rods 2 and 3 are from another sequence ???

What gives??

The engine was blueprinted (presumably balanced??) by Power Engineering.... have they got it wrong

No they did it, I phoned em a bit back and the engine builder was in the office, I wanted to know exactly what was done, he flick some pages in a book and gave me the exact date and spec which corresponded with the dates I had on invoices (these were back in the day when they did invoices all hand written )

if its been blueprinted then it shouldnt matter, all rods would have been matched and end to end weighted so essentially all identical within a small tolerence. aslong as the caps number matches the rods number tho they're paired with if they dont then they will have to have line bored again, however that would be rare IMO.

Could be a length issue, they vary slightly and so does the throw on the crank, so they might actually be more even deckheight that way round.
