Just make sure you time it up by using the right marks on the bottom crank pulley, there’s more then one slot n easy to get it wrong.
Leave the manifolds attached aswell, cos getting at the nuts afterwards is a sh1t.
Good luck

Yea as said leave all the manifold on and just lift the head off, worth checking the head face to make sure it hasnt been over skimmed, ideal thickiness is 138.68 or more, also worth checking for det marks etc. Main thing is to make sure u undo all the pipes etc cos theres feckin loads lol, things like the turbo oil feed, turbo to sump pipe, water pipe at the back of the head!!!

if you have the facilities cut the heads off 4 of the old head bolts and then make two pairs of long studs by welding 2 together.....insert one at rear right head bolt hole and one at front left when replacing head for location

Dont replace it with a standard ford one, get at least a group A one or better still if you can afford it a reusable tri-metalic one.

I have a memory like a sieve Dave

good to hear you got a cossie now though, also my advice don'y put a standard headgasket on. But a Grp A one on as a MINUMUM....there good for a stage 3 which my car runs.
