Saph Faced 3dr... ???
Did it come from the factory like this or its a very nice conversion?
I read somewhere that only very few models came out like this, when they changed the 3dr with the saph...
Does anyone know if its true or not? Cause if its true this must be one of the rarest cossies ever....

it's just a mk2 3 door that was available on the continent, but not in uk. not in cossie version, but obviously all mk2 stuff will fit, including 4 door cosworth front end.
does look proper bo, and i would reshell my sapph into one if i didn't happen to have an estate kicking around.

You can spot if its a mk2 or a Mk1 with the saff front grafted on by looking at the fuel filler

just some info on the particular car. Its a 200 block which runs a comp ratio of more than 9:1, HKS T51R KAI on pectel and was dynoed 713 hp and 72 kg torgue at the wheels on 2.3 bar. On 2.5 it demolished the tranny and now it runs 4wd with a Quafie straight cut box....

I know, micky dicky, but you did get Mk11 3 doors in Germany and spain and I think the cossie kit looks very very good on it.
The one in the pictures I posted once finish had a great job done when joining the bumper to the kit

Actually you are all wrong
There was 1 mk2 3dr Cossie built in 1991 for the director of the ford plant in Genk. It was a dark metallic green with green leather trim. 4wd with early type saph wheels. The car was only used at a couple of shows as they couldn't get type approval for it. I saw the car while working there in 2000, and it was just sat in the corner of an outbuilding, having covered less than 100 miles. A couple of lads who were working there at the time stole the head and front seats from it i believe. I've got some piccies somewhere that i'll put up. I spoke to one of the managers at the plant about the car and he said they couldn't sell it because of the type approval issues and that it would probably be crushed
