hello my bro has just brought an escort rs turbo, but he if having a couple of problems with it some times its a nightmare to start its odd as in the morning its on the button, say then he drives to the shop comes out and it takes ages to start. Also it sometimes dies in traffic the idle goes very low and dies.

Ok. I had similar issues a few months ago.

I started by disconnecting the CSV. This made no difference. Blue Plug
I then tried disconnecting AAV. Black plug under inlet manifold. This stopped my problem.
So I tried replacing the aux air still no difference. It turned out the earth for the AAV on the wiper motor had worked loose. Cleaned and tightened and all was ok.

Even if you bro's is not an earth I would certaining start here. Also my favourite saying. Try the simples to - Rotor/Sparkers and leads if not new treat the car to a new set.

 

cheers mate few bits to try, funny u say about an earth there is an earth lead behind the metering unit that is not connected to anything but i cant see any where to put it

Erm if its the one im thinking of that one goes on the Amal Valve mount!

 

would that cause boost problems

Mines came of ages ago. I did not notice any issues.

 

oh ok cheers, the car only boosts about 3psi not sure y.
