Default Is this worth it.....

A bloke at my work is selling his Escort RS 2000.
N REG
96,000 miles,
Full service history.
In good condition
£2000.
Is it worth £2000?? I know its been looked after & hasnt had the nuts thrashed off it. I m tempted to get it, but dont want to be over charged. What you lot think??
Also, whatgroup insurance are they. I own an RS turbo & was wondering if its going to be much more or roughly the same.
Thanks in advance

£2000 sounds a bit low but they are under rated cars. This as well as your RST or instead of. If it's instead of you will find it feels sooo slow by comparison.

I have recently swapped my series II for a N reg RS2000. They are so much nicer to drive, comfy seats, powersteering, better brakes etc.

It is everything the series II should have been apart from the lack of a Turbo and beefier looks.

I paid £2000 and it has 126,000 miles on it, but i only wanted a cheap car for the misses as i use a van every day.

I do plan to get a proper turboed car again for weekends when i move in to my house in the next month (first time buyer).

They are not superbly quick but could get you ito a lot of trouble with out you realising

Thats like i might get it then. Its a nice looking motor. Metalicy kinda grey, what ever colour it is wiv tints, alloys, etc.
Its instead of the RST. Its on its last legs & will be stripped. So need another motor.
What BHP are they?? & also, what engines are in the escort gti, mk6??? 1.8 16v arent they?

p.s, i have a feeling im going to miss the turbo, specially the boost.
